I don't think anyone is talking about changing our stance on privacy, just modifying our operational architecture so that we still have a service in 5 years to offer privacy, users would be tied to the whitelist, aside from that nothing changes.
our abuse response would more or less be the same too, difference is instead of keeping track of ip's for rate limiting, we keep track of users, and remove the user from the whitelist.

not to mention, I've noticed half our server issues seem to be directly related to the open resolver abuse mess, if that doesn't get fixed, I worry we won't have any servers left to run, bigger issue for privacy

subscription in this sense does not have any assoicated costs, that'd go
against what OpenNIC stands for.
