Version 2.3.2 is the current version in the debian wheezy repo. As you noted, I am playing mp3 audio which doesn't really seem to be supported in newer versions? I started out using ices0 but discovered ices-cc which seems to be a bit newer. Ices2 didn't appear to support mp3 at all.
The entire setup is pieced together with Ampache to manage the playlists and track data, plus I have been through several iterations of my php script which generates the track lists for ices-cc to play. The entire setup is such a mix of different software that I would be afraid of changing anything.
As for the hatred of mp3 files... My audio library is nearly 600GB. Converting it to ogg or something else would do nothing but degrade the quality of the files, and require a considerable amount of time. It's simply not worth the effort.
I only run the stream at 128kb to limit my bandwidth usage. I listen to it all day from work, and the quality sounds fine to me. I'm not exactly running hi-def speakers here. :-)
Oh, and I wasn't planning on publishing realtime data from other stations, I just wanted to set up a single place where someone might browse through the available stations and launch off to their respective websites and/or streams.

You are running a very old version of Icecast (2.3.2). We are currently
releasing 2.4.1. ;) There had been many changes including many security
changes.
Also you run the stream in MP3 wich isn't officially supported. ... and
you do so in a very low quality. Is there any problem with upgrading to
some supported codec and a little bit more of quality? (I'm talking
about quality, not bitrate!)
Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out there in case there's anyIf there is a significant number you could also set up a stream

do not need to cooperate with the operators more than they pushing the
data to your directory in addition to what they are sending them to by
now (if any).
Have a nice day!
