Thanks for pointing out this project, I hadn't heard of it before!  I'll mention it to others and if it looks promising we can certainly try running some tests with it.

Right off hand, if such a solution works, I would imagine setting up one in the US and another in Europe, where we have the heaviest concentration of users and available servers.  We'll have to see how it works out though.

How about using a project like dnsdist [0]

With that in place we can provide a smaller subnet of external T2
nameserver but that wouldn't affect if a large amount of dns servers are
being shutdown or even ddos affects it's service.

Of course that approach isnt a win-win situation cause then you have to
operate an (or many) extra dns servers to act as load balancers. And
then there is the issue of geolocation. Perhaps a load balancer for
every country(?) would be a better solution.

If such proposal has already been discussed in the past, plz forgive me
as I am new in this list. Is just an idea that i am considering for the
company I am currently working for preventing the above problem. But I
havent use it yet and I dont have more insights on the matter.
