Ole the concerns you express relate to english and, more importantly,  using browsers that are tied up with the ican issues  as well as the shuttleworth / andreeson (and ms)  ca cert scam.

I mentioned the need for overhauling some software and the browser is one part of that overhaul.

Opennic provides the open (international,  human rights upholding or harmonizing if you wish) name to number mapping foundation. The clean software still needs to be written but in the end whatever.whatever or moi.jesuis  just maps to a number. Theres no semantic management involved. That's what makes it opennic.

Which reminds me, I need to start looking into setting up namserver to expand the network.

Je suis is nice, but using common extensions for
executables seems ill advised to me. I suggest that
strings such as .exe, .com, .zip, .js, and .php
should be avoided for the sake of protecting people
who are not so security savvy and may be using some
badly designed operating system of which they also
have little understanding. Like all decisions, it is
a good idea to consider "what if" before committing.
I submit that when choosing an OpenNIC TLD we should
also consider the greater internet community.

        Ole Juul
