There is a simple solution for this problem ...

as soon as it possible to receive E-mails from everyone even on a OpenNIC domain,
e.g.    hugo AT hello.reg.libre SSL/TLS is not the problem ...

I don't want perfect be the enemy of good, but:

I think, the "good" solution should be smoothly extendable towards "perfect". Which a other-than-standard-X.509-infrastructure is not, IMHO.
