Sending and receiving emails from/to opennic tlds is possible and always 
was - but I doubt the usability of that, because big email providers like 
gmail will most certainly not evaluate the email domain as valid.

How would you distribute certificates via email? Does there exist some 
automatic protocoll for that? Or do you suggest to send certificates 
around manually?

If there exists an automatic protocoll, this could be a nice supplement to 
acme - then someone running an email server under an opennic domain can 
easily get certificates for that, too.
