What you should do is tell us how to generate hashed lists so that we never have to give you logs in the first place.

I assume most operators willing to give you this data would only do it with a strong one way hash pre-applied (such as SHA512)

Thank you,

Hi OpenNIC operators,

currently I am researching Internet censorship in a western country.
The government distributes a secret list of hash values of domains to the ISPs. In order to analyze the blocklist I calculate the hashes of domains I find on other leaked blocklists, proxy blocklists for squid, public zone files, the Alexa/Quantcast top million files etc. and compare them with the hashes. This way it was possible to recover most domains on the list already.

Now for the last few hashes I am looking for more and bigger lists of domains. I know that most DNS operators in this project don't log requests, but maybe some do. Just the plain domains are needed, no timestamp, client IP or other data. I am especially looking for subdomains, e.g. someblog.wordpress.com since those are not included in many other sources. If you log domains in the lower/upper case they were entered in the browser it would be great to get the domains exactly that way because there are some non-normalized domains with upper cases on the list as well (don't ask). Old logs are fine as well, there are domains on the list which are not registered anymore since years... :)

If you are willing to help me with my research on Internet censorship it would be great to hear from you off list.

Thank you very much!
