I am very new to the OpenNIC community, so I will abstain from voting
(actually, I don't even know if I would be eligible to vote).

I do have a question regarding the charter, though: isn't 96 hours (48 for
discussion plus 48 for voting) a bit too short of a timeframe to present all
kinds of proposals, especially given that the outcome a vote is to be decided
by simple majority of the votes cast (i.e. with no quorum required)?
For example, wouldn't this make it easier for a small group to pass a
controversial proposal, e.g. by presenting it during a holiday break?
