Mario, this is the first I've heard of .null not providing DNS hosting for registered domains. I'm curious why it doesn't?

Just an FYI for the discussion, all other TLDs under opennic do provide the option to either use that TLD's nameserver, or use your own nameserver, for hosting the records for your domain. The TLD information is shared equally between all of the tier1 servers, so including domain records to the TLD record does not add any appreciable load to any of the servers.

An example of this would be registering domains from http://reg.for.free/ -- by default if you just need a simple domain setup with A or AAAA records, ns2.opennic.glue will host the DNS zone for you, but you still need to host the actual website on another server.

That got me thinking, isn't it possible for one of the
other Opennic servers to act as a domain host for all
the Opennic TLD's? How much/many resources are needed
to do that? It would certainly help make this whole idea
available to the public. Yes, I know only people with
a couple or two of computer smarts are going to use this
anyway. However, to not only set up a domain for some
space, but to also have to procure the resources and
set up a server is raising the bar unnecessarily. No?
