Not exactly split off. More reinvented. But that being details of

First of all, register.fur is just for 'compatibility' with OpenNIC.
Maybe it's better to make it point to a little page that informs the
reader that he found a strange link and that the actual FurNIC page is
at http://www.nic.fur/.

So basically the domain is more reserved than actually used. If OpenNIC
at some point requests it I would gladly paw it over.

Here is an extract from the whois:

That said: What is the error message you get? The site works for me.
