Not immediately obvious is a good point. It's a good
idea, but a little odd perhaps.

In any case, what's in a name? If the name and the
charter don't match well that's perhaps another thing
but changing the charter is the easiest solution.

My problem here is that there seems to be an intent
at conveying freedom and liberty, yet the charter
is everything but. To my way of thinking, that is just
wrong and the only solution is to re-write the charter
to be less draconian and more egalitarian.

OpenNIC, in my opinion, is better aligned with
democratic ideas and personal freedom. It seems that
some people relish the idea of control over others.
Would it not be better to move away from that sort
of thing?
