Collecting analytics would benefit Tier 2 operators because we would have a more accurate representation of where our users are coming from, and could perhaps make more decisions regarding location, etc. of our servers taking that into account. 

It would also benefit developers of our secondary services like the wiki, website, and server directory for the reasons I mentioned previously. 

The anonymous data I mentioned previously would be available publicly via the web interface and an API to the public, no login required. Scraping that data would be silly in my opinion, but since again, the data is available to everybody, making a tool that does that is definitely something you could do if you wanted. 

Privacy policies are relatively non-complex documents. Modifying https://piwik.org/privacy-policy/ (which is what Piwik recommends) would be a simple task.

Yeah, of course, once again you come up with something that benefits you. Well at least the rest of the "OpenNIC elite" would directly benefit this time.

If this is truly transparent according to OpenNIC's mission then raw dumps would be available to anyone on request, and there would be monthly or biweekly postings of the "anonymized" data to the mailing list, for everyone.

Also, another issue to bring up, we would need an attorney to draft up the privacy policy. Who pays for that? You? Fusl? Jeff?
