I know you guys are going to figure this out, I already wrote what I think - Profit and Principles are different champions.

I do what I can to support OpenNIC, and I am not a leech hoping to get free work out of you for my own purposes.
I have a huge wiki explaining my purpose and you never going to find me in contradiction.

".pirate" and ".anarchy" are all fun and play, but I think something like ".manufacture" could better pay some bills - no?
Let Epik have the ".mfg" - and spend a lot of money and time fighting for it with ICANN, litigate EU laws and regulations, and so on, so on...

Epik could be free advertisement for OpenNIC, the Truly Libre Alternative.

Just my two cents and my worthless ideas.

Well, whatever. :D I'll continue to direct people I know that are
looking for an alternative, to use OpenNIC root servers, or mine which
cascades OneNIC. Epik can do whatever they want, people using OpenNIC
will resolve the original TLDs. In all fairness, ICANN can do the
same, to both OpenNIC AND to Epik (as with .free; and don't get me
started on that, again), for those who won't move from ICANN. ie.
Everyone who uses the default DNS from traditional ISPs (like most
people). Don't know how the plan to painlessly solve for that problem.
Either Epik really doesn't understand how DNS works, or their heads are
so far up their sphincters, they haven't had oxygen for years.

And then he has the gall to end with:
"The names that we did register will continue to resolve across our
network. We reserve the right to re-open those name spaces at a time
of
our choosing.

Best of luck to you."

Seriously. What an arse. His or a rep of Epik's hot air will get no
traction here. They can carry on with their narcissistic BS.

Thing is it looks like they don't care, and it's kind of clear from
the wording they're willing to hijack whatever they want and a big F
to the community as a whole (

) :

To avoid confusion, we'll try not to trip over OpenNIC TLDs. No
promises there. The names that we did register will continue to
resolve across our network. We reserve the right to re-open those
name spaces at a time of our choosing.
