Well in that case, if you have extra time and a server, just do it. Closed group or not (I don't even know), nothing is stopping you from implementing all this right now and if they do get time then someone might help out! :)

Yes. It wouldn't take very long for me to set something like that up. I've used Nagios, Cacti, and OpenNMS quite a bit, though not the new iterations of Nagios (Shinken, Icinga).

 

I don't think you need to be in the team to actually do things, and you might land yourself a spot if you do good work.

My understanding is it's a closed group. If I'm wrong, that's good.
