The workgroups are NOT invite-only... In fact if you have an account on
the wiki, you can add yourself to the workgroup. They exist as a means
of seeing who else might be working on different pieces of OpenNic,
giving you the chance to contact them and see if there is any work being
done in the areas you are interested in contributing to. If nobody is
working on something that you feel needs addressed, then step up and
write the documentation, build the web pages, make suggestions on the
mailing list.

OpenNic is open to everyone, contributions will be discussed and voted
on, and there is always plenty of outstanding projects that you can
volunteer to help with. Saying that you think a lot of things need to
be changed is fine... We *know* there's a lot of work to be done. The
problem is getting people to make the long-term commitment needed to
actually implement those changes. Nothing is going to happen overnight,
and it can take months just to push simple concepts into working
structures. So jump in and show us what you can do!
