I'm also running a Minetest server on OpenNIC, mt.cyb, however I don't yet have a forum topic.

Seems quite a few people in OpenNIC also play Minetest, I know of at least two others.

I use .dyn and .bit addresses for my Minetest game servers, and list them within the game and on the forums.

(Ugh, sorry for the blank email. Good going gmail's interface.)

Anyway, I'd have to say I very much disagree with this proposal. For
starters, random people running TLDs like that is asking for trademark
lawsuits. Secondly, I really don't see any need for an entire TLD for
most games. Something massive like an MMO* that takes place in modern
times maybe, but even then I don't see there being enough content
(websites) for an entire TLD to be necessary. Maybe something like
Nationstates where the entire game is about making countries, but I
don't think even they have enough users to make a TLD worthwhile.

Maybe do something like a .games, but a game-specific TLD I am
probably just going to vote no one.

Hi all.

I have new idea :)
When I was thinking about "How to promote opennic project ? How to attract
people to it ?"

Idea of creation TLD for the games with millions of fans come.

Such as:

GTA http://www.rockstargames.com/
dota http://www.dota2.com/play/
battlefield https://www.battlefield.com/
worldofwarcraft. https://worldofwarcraft.com/ru-ru/

And so on.
So, for my opinion, it is real chance to attract millions of people to
opennic project .
Of course among them there will be sys.admins too. So project can receive
new DNS servers and users of that DNS servers can open all opennic TLDs.

If you like idea I offer to start with .gta TLD. I can carry this TLD and
create web tool to register new domains in this TLD.
