Hey all,

As I may or may not have mentioned previously, I have been wanting to
propose a new TLD for inclusion into OpenNIC. I have been slowly
fishing the idea around to those who might be interested in using a
TLD like this, and it seems that I have finally gotten a bite and a
bit of positive preliminary feedback at so early a stage. Now that
I've introduced it to potential users, I'd like to introduce it to the
list, for feedback from all of you:

I propose to create the .eq TLD. Domains under .eq are intended for
fan sites and works of _My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic_, which is
currently an active and growing arena of creativity.

My endlessly-active mind has come up with a multitude of concerns
which members of OpenNIC may have with this idea, and I'm interested
in finding out which ones you bring up, and which ones are figments of
my imagination. However, I also think this is a good way to increase
the userbase of OpenNIC and peered NICs, and alternatives to ICANN's
root in general.

I'll be happy to answer questions anyone may have.
