I again tried some more searches at grep.geek. Sorry to say I was underwhelmed with the results. The results were mostly links to old archives at totse.com, which apparently doesn't exist anymore. The few other results were from ICANN sites. I'll reiterate that new people need to have fun discovering sites they've never seen before. If they can't find them via search, then we at least need to have something. Maybe: rotating featured sites, top sites or site of the day, which should be linked to from the homepage.
I also think that it would be great for visitors to be able to do a dry run via a proxy, but I just tried them & they didn't work on my computer. I remember liking this capability before I joined (even though I got unimpressive search results then too). We could put the proxy info on the homepage, around where there is the link to tell people how to modify there DNS settings.

I'm trying to design it to be easier to find info, so, new members, whats missing from http://new.opennic.glue Can you find info easier? Does it display what new members need to find? --julian -------- You are a member of the OpenNIC Discuss list. You may unsubscribe by emailing discuss-unsubscribe AT lists.opennicproject.org
