Jonah: I've set up dedicated servers before (similar to VPS). If I did
that, then I'd need to know how to get the DNS to point to that
server. In the past, I've just done that through my registrar, but
I'm not sure how that works with OpenNIC domains. I'll have to do
a bit of reading on that. Thank for the SSL info. Since almost no one will be able to reach
the site anyway without being able to modify their DNS, I suppose
asking them to accept a self-signed cert isn't much more to ask of
them. Thank you Christopher. I'll take a look. Amrit, thank you for the info. Daniel, thank you. I'll take a look. On 2017-07-21 19:02, Jonah Aragon

Perhaps you could consider buying a VPS and doing
it yourself? It isn't that much more expensive than a hosting
plan and it provides a lot more in terms of flexibility and
reliability. As low as $5/mo at DigitalOcean.
I was thinking of providing hosting services for .o users
but I don't have anything setup yet, or else I'd suggest that,
ah well.
You're not going to be able to use Let's Encrypt with
OpenNIC domains, they don't support our namespace.

I tried to
get DreamHost to manually add my .o domain, but in Januarythey said they won't. (I've been too busy to investigate further until now) Does anyone know a hosting company that will let you use OpenNIC domains? Bonus if they allow/facilitate Let's Encrypt SSL certs.
