I second this. Would it not be more sensible to wait until TLDs demonstrate a 
registration system to add them to the root? That way, there is still some 
urgency, but no concrete deadline (OpenNIC is not anyone's full time job and 
it's understandable that personal matters might get in the way of things). It 
also means that TLDs will not rush and end up setting up a suboptimal 
registration system.
