i won't object, but i find the proposal peculiar, because we had several 
discussions that clearly fulfilled the "offtopic" condition and nobody 
complained, nor was the proposal brought up. besides, traffic on this list 
has been rather sporadic lately - which all together leads me to a question: 
am i completely wrong in my assumption that you simply want the topic out of 
the way? and if so, why? (no offense intended of course, i'm just curious.)
