There is a prohibitively expensive tech called "telepresence" used for
telecommuting to office work abroad. With the combination of remote
"employee" VPNs and elaborate video conferencing, enterprise-grade
hardware equipment, it makes it easier to collaborative over long
distances.
Even if we could afford any of this, I'd still recommend as many of us
as can afford or get the time off from work to attend should attend an
OpenNIC convention or conference. Despite advances in telepresence and
telecommuting and virtual office hardware and software, there's
nothing quite like touching base in person at a hotel's ballroom and
room parties.
There's also a great card game I'd love to play with you guys. :D
