I think at this time I’d agree with Fusl, in that at the moment I do *not*
want Discord to *replace* IRC (I feel as if that is not clear in this
thread), and I wouldn’t want people joining Discord expecting the same thing
there (and therefore wouldn’t want to directly link the two). Consider it a
separate community operated space, similar to talk.geek.

Although for what it’s worth, I don’t even think IRC is an “official”
communications channel of OpenNIC, it just so happens to be the de facto
meeting place, where everyone is already. The only official communications
channels are this mailing list, the wiki, and the underutilized homepage at
opennic.org.
